The City of Chicago has issued a new construction permit for a three-story, six-unit residential building located at 2456 West Cortez Street in West Town. The permit was issued on October 4, after an application process that began on July 29.
The project will feature a rooftop deck with a pergola, rooftop stair enclosures, a rear terrace on the first story, and rear balconies on the first, second, and third stories. A detached six-vehicle garage with a rooftop deck will also be constructed.
Various fees have been paid, including $300 for building fees, $75 for zoning fees, and $375 in subtotal paid fees. The remaining unpaid fees total $15,514.96, consisting of $10,580.96 in building fees, $550 in zoning fees, and $4,384 in other fees. The total project fee amounts to $15,889.96.
Several contractors and professionals are involved in the project, including a self-certified architect John Hanna. The owner of the property is listed as 2454 Cortez LLC. The reported cost of the project is $2,409,015.
