A permit for new construction has been issued for a property located at 9121 South Commercial Avenue in South Chicago. The permit, which was applied for on October 10, 2023 and issued on August 2, allows for the construction of a new two-story commercial building with ground-floor retail and storage above.
The total fee for the permit is $3,825, with $3,750 paid towards building fees and $75 towards zoning fees. The reported cost of the project is $400,000.
The owner of the property is Jihad Jibaw. The architect for the project is Thomas Montgomery. When complete, 9121 South Commercial Avenue will be located a short walk from the 93rd Street/South Chicago CTA Station, which services the Electric District Train.
