A new construction permit has been issued for a four-story, two-dwelling unit building at 1834 North Hudson Avenue in Lincoln Park. The masonry building will include a basement, rear deck, detached 2-car masonry garage, and roof deck. The permit is currently active, with an application start date of April 1 and an issue date of September 20.
The reported cost of construction for the project is $1,400,000. All fees have been paid, including $2,850 for building fees and $1,500 for zoning fees, totaling $4,350.
Project plans were designed by self-certified architect Michael Cox. Development is being led by the property’s owner, which is listed as 1834 Hudson LLC. Transit nearby the property will include CTA Stations servicing the Brown and Purple lines.

  1. Will someone be making sure they don’t cut down that tree just so that people will be able to see the property “better” from the street? That’s been the pattern with these developments in this area. The new owners then get to wonder why they have so much sun glare and no shade.
    No doubt the developer will say that the tree hinders some non-existent aspect of machinery access.
    It takes 25 years for a tree to regrow to the size of this one out front.
