The construction of 1400 S Wabash Avenue is well underway in the South Loop, replacing a long-empty vacant lot. CMK Companies is developing this mixed-use project, which will comprise of a ground-level retail component and 299 rental units on the upper floors.
Facade installation has begun for 808 N Cleveland Avenue, a 23-story mixed-use tower nearing its full height in Near North Side. A notable addition to Chicago Avenue’s recent canyon-ization, the 284-foot-tall tower is being developed by DAC Developments and will provide 7,500 square feet of retail, 20,000 square feet of leasable offices, and 200 for-rent apartments. The new structure is replacing a previously overgrown lot situated on a trapezoidal parcel.
The crowning parapet is beginning to take shape at 354 N Union Avenue, a 33-story residential tower in Fulton River District. The 410-foot-tall tower recently claimed dominance as one of the tallest structures in Fulton Market vicinity, surpassing neighboring K2 Apartments’ 366-foot pinnacle earlier this spring.
Window installation work is wrapping up for the nine-story mixed-use building known as Platform 4611, located at 4611 N Broadway in Uptown. The topped-out, 103-foot-tall project is being developed in partnership between John Buck Company and Free Market Ventures, who have planned for 12,000 square feet of retail and 200 rental apartments above.
This week, YIMBY toured the construction site at 1400 S Wabash Avenue, which will give rise to a 30-story mixed-use high rise in South Loop. Developed by CMK Companies, the 305-foot-tall tower will add to South Loop’s growing skyline cluster, alongside the 768-foot-tall 1000M apartment building that’s rising nearby.
