Since its coverage in the 2021 year-end countdown, further window and railing installation has taken place for Sedgwick Development‘s 142 W Erie Street, formerly known as Bentham Chicago. The 14-story mixed-use building is located River North along the corner of Erie Street and LaSalle Drive, just one block east of the Wells Street restaurant corridor. Prior to the construction, the parcel was occupied by an auto body shop that was demolished in 2016.
Remaining facade pieces are undergoing installation at The Bentham, a 14-story retail and condominium building that is now wrapping up at 146 W Erie Street in River North. Sedgwick Development is acting as the developer, architect, and general contractor for the project, which will provide 2,556 square feet of retail and 31 condominiums. Beginning at just over $1 million, each condominium will house three bedrooms and three bathrooms, and will come with open floor plans, floor-to-ceiling windows, private elevator access, and private balconies.
Exterior cladding has reached the 13th floor of the now topped-out Bentham Chicago, a mixed-use building rising 15 stories in River North. Both designed and developed by Sedgwick Development, the 172-foot-tall tower will house retail at its base, with 31 condominiums on the floors above.
